I believe that feminism has become toxic. There is a perception that women feel entitled to something from men and the world due to the wounds they have suffered as a consequence to enduring a patriarchal society. However, the reality is that, regardless of even the generations of injustice, it owes women nothing. The patriarchy is rooted in fear and arrogance—fear of women's power and arrogance that stems from insecurity. This cycle perpetuates as we trigger each other, rather than recognizing our individual strengths beyond societal standards
Society's expectations have imposed unreasonable standards on both men and women. The solution lies in crafting our own narratives and definitions of what it means to be a man or a woman. This allows us to establish more reasonable expectations than those imposed by society. It's crucial for each of us to be aware of when we are influenced by imaginary rules as this is detrimental to our mental well-being.
Many assertive women and emotionally vulnerable men defy societal labels because they have established their own definitions and narratives and have succesfuly disregarded society's expectations. Despite this act of existing courage however more men are committing suicide than women. it's counterproductive for women to point fingers and pressure men to do better. Men are not in the driver's seat of women's well being, and relinquishing control in this way disempowers both genders. True change begins within ourselves, confronting fears and challenging beliefs, empowers not only ourselves but also the men in our lives.
I believe in our interconnectedness and acknowledging our collective responsibility for suicides. While no single person is fully to blame, societal and cultural factors contribute. Individuals succumb to the pressure of unattainable standards, leading to despair. Creating change starts with ourselves, avoiding the imposition of pressure on others and instead offering ourselves reassurance, positive affirmations, time, compassion, value, and love. While not easy, this self-work is far more achievable than adhering to a particular ideology like feminism.
